This weeks Brother of the Week is junior Erik Gage, our sustainability chair affectionately known as Rick. We managed to talk to his agent and fit a little Q&A into his busy schedule.
How do you feel about shortening your name to Rick?
EG: It’s actually spelled Rik, and I embrace it with pride.
What’s the most sustainable thing you’ve done so far as Sustainability Chair?
EG: Instituting a recycling program and getting the house to use more energy efficient lights. Plus turning down the heat in the house which wasn’t a popular choice, but saving the planet takes sacrifices right?
You claim to play lacrosse. Where’s your flow?
EG: My flow is in my rhymes.
Best thing about transferring here from UMD?
EG: Definitely the Big Ten sports and the walks outside between classes.
What are you looking forward to most this summer?
EG: WeFest.
What movie do you believe deserves a sequel?
EG: Magic Mike, but since my dream’s coming true I’d have to say Interstellar.
If you could eat dinner with 3 historical figures, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
EG: Sidney Crosby, Peter Schermerhorn Johnson, and FDR.
One piece of wisdom you’ve learned this year that you’d like to pass on:
EG: I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.
Deep.
